Connor Stevens
VP External

Email: external@unbsrc.ca
Office: Ste. 208

Connor Stevens is your Vice President External at UNB Students' Representative Council. He is in his third year, pursuing a bachelor of arts degree, and majoring in political science. His interest in politics is found in the way people can make changes. His passion for advocacy grew in Grade 7 where he advocated to the city for plowed sidewalks to his school. He was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick. His diagnosis with autism spectrum disorder has always made him believe in raising awareness to causes people are not familiar with.

He is zealous about public policy and advocating for student's needs by building strong partnerships with external stakeholders. He believes in a research backed advocacy approach, to build relationships so that stakeholders can better serve the students at UNB Saint John. He also believes in grassroots advocacy, where student voices and stories are at the forefront of his advocacy efforts.

Some of his priorities include affordability, accessibility, and quality of education. He believes these principles in post-secondary education help ensure students can enter with fewer barriers and come out with new skills to enter the job market. His philosophy when it comes to education is that society is better off with an affordable education system to train new leaders, job creators, and innovators of society's greatest challenges. He appreciates addressing any issue to ensure post-secondary education is affordable, accessable, and of the highest quality.

Alongside his academics, Connor likes to go on long hikes, baking, making cocktails, and playing board games. If you hear of any new board games, he would be very interested.  He also has a dog who he loves to play tug of war with. He believes students should be active advocates and encourages students to get involved with his advocacy efforts
