Grocery Gift-Card Program

The SRC’s grocery gift-card program is designed to provide students in need with emergency funding for groceries. The SRC provides funding annually in funding to this program to ensure that students have the basics to succeed while in university. To qualify for this program you must be a current undergraduate student at UNB Saint John or a Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick student.

Please note that funds are distributed by the UNB Saint John financial aid office and that the SRC has no influence over who qualifies for this program. This program is need based and need will be accessed by the financial aid office.


Student Educational Opportunities Fund (SEOF)

UNB Saint John and the SRC provide funds for undergraduate students to attend educational opportunities such as conferences, learning symposiums and other educational events that students would not otherwise be able to attend without financial help. One award of $2,500 to be awarded annually on the recommendation of the UNB Saint John SRC Student Leadership committee to a full or part-time Saint John campus student who has made an outstanding contribution to student life and has demonstrated strong leadership skills in university activities. The recipient must be in good academic standing, have completed a minimum of 2 years (60 ch) of their undergraduate degree on the Saint John campus.

Value: $2,500

UNB Saint john 50th anniversary scholarship

Awarded to a Saint John campus student who has completed at least the minimum requirements for the first year of an undergraduate program. Selection is based on academic achievements and financial need, with consideration given to the student’s involvement in extracurricular activities.

Value: $1,500

Awarded on the basis of financial need to students enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program on the Saint John Campus. Students must demonstrate successful academic performance.

Anthony enman unsung hero merit award

Awarded to a Saint John campus student who is enrolled in their final year in an undergraduate degree program who has made outstanding contribution to the university and surrounding community. The recipient must exude strong leadership qualities and selflessness, placing community causes ahead of oneself and demonstrate successful academic performance.

Value: $1,000

SRC Bursaries for Varsity Athletes

The SRC matches the funds raised at the annual Kingston Cup to provide two bursaries for varsity student athletes. Recipients are selected by the Athletics Department and the bursaries are presented at the annual Varsity Awards Banquet.

Foster Children Bursary Program

Storwell Self Storage has re-launched their Foster Children Bursary which provides scholarships to foster children who are working on building a better life for themselves. For more information and to fill out an application, click here

COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The Saint John Newcomers Center is awarding 3 anglophone and 1 francophone first year students a scholarship to help those who are in need have the finical resources necessary to complete post secondary education.
